Explore Care Options

Greetings and welcome,

I’m Lewis P. Bower Jr., Founder and CEO of KeepMeHome. Over 25 years ago, I launched this full-service home care company after spending two decades in the healthcare industry, where I owned and operated several assisted living facilities.

Throughout my career, I encountered a recurring challenge: individuals who could no longer live independently but weren’t quite ready—or willing—to move into residential care. This gap left families struggling to find quality, compassionate support at home.

In 2000, that struggle became personal when my father fell ill and we needed help caring for him. What I discovered was disheartening—very few home care options met the standard of care I believed he deserved. That experience became the catalyst for KeepMeHome.

From day one, our mission has been simple: to provide high-quality, dependable in-home care that supports families, respects the dignity of our clients, and delivers the kind of service my father would have been proud of.

Today, while there are many home care providers to choose from, our commitment remains unchanged. At KeepMeHome, we continue to offer the personalized, reliable care that families have trusted for over two decades.

Thank you for considering us.

Warmly,

Lewis P. Bower, Jr.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a minimum number of hours required?

No, KeepMeHome does not have any minimum hour requirements. You can choose a schedule that works best for you and your family.

Do smaller service plans cost more per hour?

Absolutely not. We charge the same hourly rate regardless of the number of hours you request. There are no additional fees for smaller plans.

What if I need care on short notice?

We understand that emergencies happen. KeepMeHome can often provide same-day or next-day coverage for urgent or last-minute needs.

Can I change or cancel services at any time?

Yes. Our services are 100% flexible. You can adjust your schedule or cancel services at any time without penalties or fees.

Are your caregivers employees or independent contractors?

All our aides are direct employees of KeepMeHome. This means we handle tax withholdings, Social Security, Medicare, and provide workers’ compensation insurance, ensuring peace of mind for our clients.

What is your hiring process for new aides?

We conduct in-person interviews at our offices. Each candidate undergoes a background check and drug screening. Additionally, all new hires receive a live orientation from our staff to familiarize them with company policies. We prioritize trustworthiness and high-quality service.

Are you available outside of regular business hours? Holidays?

Yes, our office is open 365 days per year. KMH believes that having the ability to speak to a staff member on weekends and holidays gives clients and family members the best experience possible. For afterhours situations, KMH employs an answering service so that we can be available for emergencies 24 hours per day.

How quickly can services be initiated?

If you’re paying privately, starting services is straightforward. After completing a short contract and discussing your needs with our staff, we can often begin services as soon as the next day.

What payment methods does KeepMeHome accept?

We accept various payment sources for PCA, Homemaker, and Companion services, including:

  • Long-term care insurance policies

  • Connecticut Home Care Program for Elders

  • Personal Care Attendant (PCA) Waiver
